(Homoptera: Membracidae), is an important pest of alfalfa in the
southeastern United States. Feeding by these insects can result
in a girdle that encircles the base of the alfalfa stem. Fusarium
crown-rot is more severe in fields where threecornered alfalfa
hopper is abundant.
